My name is Catherine. I live in North Carolina with my awesome husband Charlie, adorable daughter Juniper, sweet baby Owen, and crazy dog Sydney.
I love pumpkins. And polaroids.
My favorite form of punctuation is the parenthesis. You will also notice that I dreadfully overuse ellipses. According to the Chicago Manual of Style, ellipsis points suggest faltering or fragmented speech accompanied by confusion, insecurity, distress, or uncertainty. Make of that what you will... I am lazy with apostrophes. This does not mean I do not know how to use apostrophes, just that most of the time I can't be bothered.
Growing up, I wanted to be an artist, a fossil hunter, a writer, and a farmer. I am a scientist. Go figure.
I am a sucker for kitty sneezes and doggie sighs.
I can't stand the smell of bell peppers cooking. And don't put bread crumbs on top of macaroni and cheese, please. What? Blue food? Atrocious.
I feel sorry for abandoned buildings, injured birds, trees that are surrounded by concrete, clams, and people who don't know that they are being mean.
I am hopelessly soft. I rarely look back. I am fiercely protective but I don't like to admit it. I am terrible at keeping secrets (unless they are mine). I am even worse at accepting advice.
I would rather be barefoot than wear high heels.
I usually have nightmares about waves. Big ones. And this did not just start recently. I also have nightmares about bellybuttons. True.
I like kindness. And good shoulders.
