We spent our Easter weekend in New Jersey with Charlie's family. In addition to a new house and new people and new books and a new dog to play with, this meant not one, but three Easter egg hunts for Juniper. I had forgotten how magical an Easter egg hunt could be for a little one - the process of searching, finding, gathering, collecting. The joy of holding something pretty and egg-shaped in your hands, a secret hidden inside. The early heat of Spring. Bright green grass, new and soft. The thrill of the hunt, indeed.
The whole concept of picking things up and putting them in a basket was tailor-made for Juniper. Throw in plastic eggs filled with Cheerios, goldfish crackers, and animal crackers, and she pretty much had the time of her life toddling and gathering and stuffing her mouth with snackies. She was so smitten with her basket of eggs that she demanded to sleep with it each night, leading to some nighttime frustration over unexpected egg spillage.
About to get her Easter dress dirty:

Hope your weekend was a fun one as well, filled with loved ones, Springtime sun, and little treasures.
And maybe a puppy or two:
