Juniper's owl obsession has reached a fever pitch. She points them out everywhere. She has an owl pillow that she totes around the house, loudly proclaiming, "OWL!" She even saw several live owls on a recent trip to the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science and just about fell over with excitement. There was much squealing and giggling. The owls were intrigued.
She has also developed a bit of an obsession with Band-Aids (of the Hello Kitty variety) and demands that they be applied to every bump, bruise, and scrape on her person (of which there are several at any given moment). I just so happen to be allergic to the adhesive used in Band-Aids, so I don't tend to find this particular fixation as adorable as the owl thing. My unending quest for that which will entertain my daughter was briefly interrupted by a visit from some dear friends of ours, Ben and Virginia. Juniper loved playing with their two sons and, such sweet boys that they are, they humored her every whim, which delighted her to no end. Games were played. Stories were read. Unintelligible conversations were exchanged. And then, of course, tears were shed when they left the next morning.
Next week, however, we will be in the Boston area visiting some more wonderful friends and family, and Juni will have plenty of playtime with her little buddy Nina and big brother Nolan. We're excited for our little vacation. See you when we get back!
